Super Freak
by Vanessa Barger
Publication Date: October 13, 2015
Publisher: Tantrum Books
Genre: MG, Fantasy
Thirteen-year-old
Caroline is a freak. Her parents have uprooted her to a town full of
Supernaturals. You’d think she’d be thrilled. But, with someone without a
magical bone in her body, this daughter of tree sprites feels like even more of
an outcast than she has ever before.
To
make matters worse, her new home is cursed. But when Caroline takes to
investigating the mysterious and strange happenings of Harridan House, her BFF
goes missing. Seems someone doesn’t want Caroline sticking her non-magical nose
where it most certainly does not belong. Determined to prove herself, Caroline
uncovers a plot to destroy her new hometown.
Undeterred,
Caroline can’t give up. But what’s a human without magical powers to do?
Caroline better figure it out fast, before she loses everything she has ever
loved and the whispers she’s heard all her life prove true: Caroline is a
useless superfreak.

Dear Readers,
First, THANK YOU.
Thank you for picking up my books and reading them. Without you, I wouldn’t be
able to do this crazy thing that I love so much. Thank you for going online and
leaving me reviews. Thank you for the emails. I love hearing your thoughts
about the books and characters. Really, I think every author gets a pretty big
thrill whenever they get an email or letter from a reader.
More importantly,
though, I want to thank you for reading books. Any books. Because as much as I
want you to read mine, I just want to know you’re reading. I think reading
opens so many doors that most people don’t even think about. You learn so much
from books, and I don’t just mean facts. I mean about life and about how other
people might think. You can learn to deal with hard things, and easy things,
and other people. You can learn about a historical period or cooking or a place
you really want to travel. So keep reading. Share your passion for books.
Recommend books. Join a book club. Geek out about your favorite books with
friends. Maybe even with strangers. Because you’re awesome, and you should
never forget it.
Reading is so
important, and without readers of books, there would be no authors, so thank
you!
Much love,
Vanessa
PS – If you just
happen to find my book, I hope you read it and enjoy it, and I’d love to hear
about it if you do!
