Here to Stay
(The Fish Tales #3)
by Suanne Laqueur
Expected publication: January 14, 2016
“You
can’t sort of do this, Fish. Draw a line and get on one side or the other...”
Love
is never so sweet as when it receives a second chance. In the sequel to the
award-winning novel The Man I Love, Suanne Laqueur continues the story of Erik
Fiskare’s romance with Daisy Bianco. Though separated for twelve years, the
extraordinary bond they forged in their youth has endured. Now reconciled and
committed as adults, they begin to create a new life together.
Laqueur
crafts a new journey that stretches into both the future and the past. Erik’s
passionate, soulful love for Daisy continues to evolve and be tested. His
friendship with Will Kaeger grows deeper and more complex. And unexpected
contact with his Fiskare cousins offers insight to the cruel childhood
desertion that shaped Erik as an adult. With Daisy at his side, he travels back
to his hometown to explore fragile memories, meet his people and learn about
the charms on his signature, heirloom necklace.
All
these relationships will prove invaluable when Erik faces his greatest
challenge as a son, a husband and a father. Once he walked away from everything
he loved. But now he is here to stay.

We read Erik’s story in The
Man I Love and then we read Daisy’s side in Give
Me Your Answer True. Now the
story continues twelve years later in Here
to Stay. Daisy and Erik are reunited
and we the readers have the pleasure of taking this journey with them as they
travel through life trying to figure it all out. This journey though is full of ups and downs
that will leave you an emotional wreck one moment and extremely happy the next. Tissues are not optional, they are absolutely
mandatory so just have them handy as you embark on this reading experience.
Once again Ms. Laqueur has crafted an amazing literary
masterpiece that is truly heartwarming and emotional. Although this story had its slow moments for
me, every detail was needed in my opinion in order for the reader to get better
insight on each character – to gain a better understanding of the past so that
the present and future fell into place in order for Erik to find peace and for
Daisy to find happiness. I guess in a
way, the story itself was slow burn up until the moment when the fire started
to ignite and this story really came to life for me and I that point I couldn't put this book down.
This was a wonderful and beautiful story that really
has it all – wonderful characters, a quest to connect with family and most importantly
of all finding out that with love, everything and anything is possible. It is also a story about overcoming heartache
and despair and in the end building relationships that are stronger and that
are ‘Here to Stay’.
As I have stated in previous reviews, Ms. Laqueur’s
talent and ability to tell a story is pure perfection and once again I am
simply amazed at her ability to write such an astonishing story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone
who wants to immerse themselves in a beautiful story of two people going
through real life experiences facing challenges that just about anyone can
relate to.
I would like to thank Ms. Laqueur for giving this reader
a truly wonderful story that will stay in my heart for quite some time. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
