Virtual Blurb Blitz Tour & Giveaway ~ Fury of Obsession by Coreene Callahan

Fury of Obsession
by Coreene Callahan

Dragon-warrior Venom lives in self-imposed isolation. Cursed by his toxic touch, he is deadly to anyone who has contact with him for too long. Set apart from others and hounded by intense loneliness, he craves the lasting connection he believes he cannot possess. Until a chance encounter with a sultry mortal offers a ray of hope…

Evelyn Foxe is the woman of Venom’s every desire, but she’s too busy running from the Russian mob to think about love. As she accepts Venom’s offer to help her escape her precarious situation, she’s skeptical, afraid that he’s in league with those sent to harm her. But when a biological weapon is unleashed in her hometown, Evelyn is forced to trust Venom—or risk the dangers of going it alone.

Will they survive the firestorm that rages around them? And can they pull from the ashes a love that will defy all the odds and last through the ages?

 Message sent.

Venom received it just fine. “We aren’t doing anything. Not until I check it out first.”

Wariness sparked in B’s gaze. Green eyes glittering in the low light, his commander eyeballed him. Venom met the perusal head-on, refusing to back down.

“Okay, Ven. You’re on,” B said, relenting, giving him the go ahead even though it meant sending him into a human town alone. First in. Last out. Kind of like the US Marines. “We’ll take the day. Rest up, take a look at any new data Sloan collects before sunset, then fly to Granite Falls.”

On board with the plan, Wick murmured his assent. “Good.”

Expression thoughtful, Rikar scrubbed his hand over his jaw. Stubble rasped against his fingernails. “We’ll set up a perimeter—seven, maybe ten miles outside of town. Wait for Venom to clear the scene. Once he green-lights it, we’ll—”

“Wait a second.” Brows drawn tight, Mac stared at him. He frowned. Venom smoothed his expression. No sense giving the game away. Smart with an extra helping of curious, the ex-cop would figure it out soon enough. But as Mac shifted focus to drill Rikar with a serious look, then turned to glare at Wick, Venom struggled to keep amusement at bay. His usual silent self, no help on the find-a-clue front, Wick didn’t say a word. Silence swelled. Playing another round of visual merry-go-round, Mac’s gaze bounced over the group, nailing each warrior before he gave up and scowled at Bastian. “No way we’re sending him in there, B. Humans are dropping like flies. Whatever bug Ivar’s cooked up could be contagious to Dragonkind.”

Wick snorted.

Rikar grinned.

Mac frowned harder. “What the hell am I missing?”

“Ven’s a venomous dragon, Mac. One of the most powerful of his kind,” Sloan said, as though the tidbit of information explained everything.

Virtual Blurb Blitz Tour & Giveaway ~ THE GUN by Daithi Kavanagh

The Gun
by Daithi Kavanagh

Garda Detective Tadhg Sullivan leads a special unit that investigates politically motivated crime. A man known only as The Deerstalker is a cancer who has infected the Irish political system.

Sullivan teams up with journalist Helen Carty, and together they try tracking down the mysterious killer. Carty adds to Sullivan’s problems, when he finds himself falling in love with her. And further complicating things, he starts losing trust in his partner, Detective Pat Carter, who appears to be on the side of the Garda Commissioner, who Sullivan is rapidly falling out with.

Sullivan’s case is further thrown into confusion when a copycat killer, Tommy Walsh, is shot dead by the CIA. When the CIA discovers that they've killed the wrong person, the two agents involved--Simon, who has become disillusioned by his time stationed in the Middle East, and Joey, a psychopath who confuses zealotry with patriotism--are also in pursuit of The Deerstalker.

Sullivan finds himself in a race against time, if he is to arrest The Deerstalker before the CIA take him out, and use his death as a pawn in a political game of chess. Who will win out in the end?

After parking, he walked through the forest to a clearing, where he knew he could see for miles. He crawled on his belly along a flat piece of rock, dragging the gun with him. The glow was coming off it again, and he could feel its strength. He stared out over the side of the cliff. Once again, he was in luck. He could see the squad cars and a crowd of people gathered around the bungalow a few hundred yards away.

Adrenaline pumped through his body. His heart felt like it would burst from his chest. He put the gun to his shoulder and adjusted the sight, scanning the group of people to find his target. There he was, right in the middle of the Gardaí. How predictable of a politician. The only time they stand with the people is during an election. He stared through the lens at the big red face.

Daithi Kavanagh lives in Trinity, County Wexford with his wife and two teenage children.

He has worked for several years as a musician.

In the last couple of years, after taking up adult education, he began writing.

His debut book is ‘The Gun’ and has now started the second book in the series.

Daithi will be awarding a $15 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

Virtual Blurb Blitz Tour & Giveaway ~ Ultimate Fear by Kristine Mason ~ Excerpt

Ultimate Fear
by Kristine Mason

BLURB
When a deranged mother's grief drives her to replace her dead son over and over, obsession leads to murder...

Chicago detective Jessica Donavan will never stop looking for her missing daughter. Her obsession has destroyed her marriage, but the search is the only thing that helps keep her sane and her mind off of everything she’s lost—her husband and her baby girl. When she uncovers a string of unsolved disappearances and reappearances of a number of baby boys, Jessica turns to her soon to be ex, Dante Russo, a former Navy SEAL turned investigator for the private agency, CORE, to help her fit together the pieces in this perplexing puzzle. But as Dante helps her, she realizes just how much she still craves his support—and his touch.

Dante is still in love with his wife and would do anything to have her back in his life again. He’s been miserable since she left him to deal with the grief over their daughter’s abduction, never understanding how much he grieves as well. When Jessica tells him about the case she’s working, he jumps at the chance to take part in her investigation. He's hoping not only to save their marriage and ease his personal pain over the loss of their daughter, but to stop a serial kidnapper from taking another victim.

Excerpt
(Hero’s POV)

“Here,” Jessica said, entering the dining room and shoving a stack of papers at him. “I signed the divorce papers. Now that you have what you wanted, you can leave.”

Dante glanced at the papers, his skin crawling at the sight of them. “Throw them away. They’re worthless.”

“Excuse me?”

“After you left, I did some research. Illinois is a no-fault state.”

She tossed the papers on the card table and folded her arms across her chest. “Meaning?”

“Meaning, after the first two years since you started this, all I needed to do was submit a document to the Court and request a Final Decree on the divorce. Since I didn’t know I could do that, and since it’s been over three years, the Court will dismiss our case as inactive. Now one of us has to re-file.”

He’d expected anger, but swore she looked relieved. His chest filled with hope. For years she’d dragged her feet and had avoided finalizing their divorce. Last night, when he’d crowded her against the kitchen counter and brought up whether or not she still loved him, her eyes had filled with tears and her face had crumpled in agony. Yet she’d said nothing. She hadn’t told him she loved him, but she also hadn’t said she wanted the divorce finalized. Instead, she’d tried to turn his words against him, to the point where he had been the one demanding a divorce he hadn’t wanted. Now they were still legally stuck together unless one of them made the move to re-file. And it sure as hell wouldn’t be him. Call him a fool or a glutton for punishment, he no longer cared. He was still in love with his wife.
About the Author
I didn’t pick up my first romance novel until I was in my late twenties. Immediately hooked, I read a bazillion books before deciding to write one of my own. After the birth of my first son I needed something to keep my mind from turning to mush, and Sesame Street wasn’t cutting it. While that first book will never see the light of day, something good came from writing it. I realized my passion and found a career I love.

When I’m not writing contemporary romances and dark, romantic suspense novels (or reading them!) I’m chasing after my four kids and two neurotic dogs.

Virtual Blurb Blitz & Giveaway ~ Share the Moon by Sharon Struth ~ Excerpt

Share the Moon
by Sharon Struth

BLURB
Sometimes trust is the toughest lesson to learn.

Sophie Shaw is days away from signing a contract that will fulfill her dream of owning a vineyard. For her, it’s a chance to restart her life and put past tragedies to rest. But Duncan Jamieson’s counter offer blows hers out to sea.

Duncan still finds Sophie as appealing as he had during boyhood vacations to the lake. Older and wiser now, he has his own reasons for wanting the land. His offer, however, hinges on a zoning change approval.

Bribery rumors threaten the deal and make Sophie wary of Duncan, yet she cannot deny his appeal. When her journalistic research uncovers a Jamieson family secret, trust becomes the hardest lesson for them both.

The reviews are in…..
"Heart-tugging small town romance with real emotion. Struth is an author to watch!"
—Laura Drake, author of RITA-award winning The Sweet Spot

"Superb… throw in a hunky dad, a small town and a savvy heroine who gets the job done and you've got me hooked!"
—Rachel Brimble, author of A Man like Him

“Manhattan.”

Sophie adjusted her crooked scarf. “Living here will be a big change.”

“I know. I’ve always loved this place, though.” Duncan reached out and tenderly brushed a leaf off Sophie’s shoulder. His gaze flowed down her body like a slow trickle of water.

An unexpected burn raced up her cheeks.

He lifted his brows. “Hey, I never knew the lake went by another name. The town website said the original name came from an old Native American word.”

She nodded. “Puttacawmaumschuckmaug Lake.” The long name rolled off her tongue with ease, the pronunciation a rite of passage for anyone born and raised around the body of water. “It either means ‘at the large fishing place near the rock’ or ‘huge rock
on the border.’”

“What?” He chuckled. “Puttamaum…”

She shook her head and repeated the difficult word. “Puttacawsch—”

“Nope. It’s a toughie. That’s why a reporter who visited here at the turn of the century suggested in his column we change the name. He said the water’s beauty was as rare as a blue moon, and the phrase stuck.”

He grinned, easy and confident. “My kids will love this place.”

Kids? Sophie buried her disappointment. “Are you and your wife looking at the other towns bordering the water?”

“No. I like Northbridge. Oh, and I’m not married,” he said matter-of-factly. His gaze arm-twisted her for a response.
