In life, there are no do-overs…
Seventeen-year-old Tara Riddle has always had a bit of a gypsy soul, so when she comes face-to-face with a life-altering decision, her first instinct is to run. The problem: The situation she’s in isn’t something she can run from. She has to face reality, which means there are no take-backs, rewinds, or do-overs.
Quentin McPherson has been in love with Tara since as far back as he can remember. He would do anything for her, go anywhere, he’d even runaway with her when it seems like the last thing they should do.
Together, Tara and Quentin will go on a raw and emotional journey of self-discovery that pushes them toward the most difficult choice they’ll ever have to make.

Tara
and Quentin have been friends since childhood and are now way past the friend
zone and in a very serious relationship.
The love the two have for one another is beautiful…but still in its infancy. One night and one careless mistake, both their worlds are rocked to the core and they will have to make a huge and difficult decision
that will change their lives forever.
I loved
Tara’s character. Even though her ‘gypsy
soul’ kept yelling at her to run from the problem and just ignore it, she weighed
every choice she had available and ultimately made the one that was the best for this situation - even though it was sad for both Tara and Quentin.
And
then there is Quentin. Gosh…what a great
guy. For such a young man – a child
really – he was so wise for his age. The
way he stuck by Tara’s side and owned up to his responsibility was truly
wonderful and made my heart happy with joy.
Where Tara was a free spirit, Quentin was well grounded which balanced
out this couple perfectly.
“I was intoxicated by the urge to feel alive and
free, and it was all because of this beautiful girl with a free spirit and a
gypsy soul.”
Gypsy Soul Summer is another wonderful
book written by Jennifer Snyder. The
story is heartbreaking yet hopeful and uplifting. It’s a story of sacrifices and a story of
love. Most of all, it’s a story that
shows there are choices available for unplanned pregnancies and there is a
network of people willing to help and provide support – all you need to do is
seek it out and not run from the issue.
This is a must-read book for any young adult and their parental figures
too.
Jennifer
Snyder’s words flow effortlessly in this story and I could tell that this issue
was very near and dear to her heart. It
is a beautiful and emotional story that I couldn’t put down. Gypsy
Soul Summer is the perfect summer read with unforgettable characters and a
heart touching story that I would highly recommend.
