Book Review ~ Perfect Betrayal by Season Vining

Perfect Betrayal
by Season Vining

Expected publication: August 18th 2015 by St. Martin's Griffin

To the outside world, Taylor Hudson has it all: beauty, money and social status. But Taylor’s privileged life is far lonelier than it appears.

Levi is the inside man on a job to steal fifteen million dollars from one of the town’s wealthiest families, putting him on a crash course with Taylor. Neither of them believe in love, but lust. . . that’s undeniable.

Now they’re locked in a wicked game of seduction and it’s unclear who is playing who. But neither of them expected the affair to lead to the deepest connection they’ve ever experienced. Because beneath Taylor’s perfect exterior lies a need for love that mirrors Levi’s own.

As the heist approaches, how can Levi protect Taylor from the truth?

Is he willing to give up everything to save the one girl who’s made him want to be a better man?

Season Vining has managed to do it again folks.  Yep, in her latest novel, Perfect Betrayal, she once again reeled me in and had me hooked.    I will have to admit though that I was a bit hesitant at the beginning of the story.  It felt like it was shaping up to be just a routine, run-of–the-mill romance story staring a rich, superficial, spoiled girl and a sinfully sexy and swoon-worthy man with a huge chip on his shoulder that would fall in love and end in a happily-ever-after.  But let me tell you – there is nothing routine or run-of-the-mill about this story!  Once the plot really picked up, I could not put this one down.  Ms. Vining made sure to give the reader an unexpected twist to the story that I did not see coming at all, but it totally pulled the story together and brought clarity to the craziness that was happening.  I loved Taylor and Levi's characters - the chemistry between the two was undeniably hot and they just 'clicked' so well together. The ending though?  Gosh, what an ending to remember and absolutely perfect – just perfect!

There was so much to like it this story.  From the poetic quotes to the steamy sex scenes to the action of pulling off a big heist, there was never a dull moment to be had while reading this story.  My only dislike about the book was that there were times when the shift in POV was not clearing defined and it threw off my reading pace a bit. If you have not had the opportunity to read the works of the talented Season Vining, then Perfect Betrayal is the perfect choice to witness her talent firsthand and perhaps add to your favorite author’s list - she is most definitely on mine!
