Book Review ~ Law of Attraction (Tangled in Texas #3) by Alison Bliss

Law of Attraction
(Tangled in Texas #3)
by Alison Bliss
Expected publication: June 25th 2018 by Entangled Publishing, LLC

For single mom Bobbie Jo Weston, finding a husband is not on her to-do list. She's focused on turning a run-down chicken farm into a Bed & Breakfast. She agrees to let a friend’s nephew stay with her in exchange for his handyman skills, but she wasn’t counting on the super sexy Seth Landry being that guy.

Seth has a special skill-set, all right, but it has nothing to do with hammering nails. As a retired member of The Resistance—an elite group of ex-military soldiers—his dark, unsettling past haunts him. He needs a place to lay low, and an out-of-the-way B&B is nothing short of perfect. The blonde beauty doesn’t trust men, and he doesn't plan on sticking around long enough to change her mind.

The closer they get, the more they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. And while Bobbie holds on to her fear of watching another man walk out of their lives, Seth's mere presence has put them all in jeopardy. The only way to ever be free of his dangerous past is for him to accept one last mission...

Law of Attraction was everything I expected from the talented Alison Bliss plus so much more.  Right from the very start, this story had me hooked and I found it impossible to put down. I absolutely adored Seth and Bobbie Jo's story so very much.  Funny, sexy, and thoroughly captivating, Law of Attraction has every possible element needed to make this a truly amazing read.

Although this is the third book in the Tangled in Texas series, it can be read as a complete stand-alone.  With exceptional writing and an engaging plot line that flowed seamlessly, Law of Attraction is a book I would highly recommend to any reader of this genre.

Book Review ~ More To Love (A Perfect Fit #3) by Alison Bliss

More To Love
Author: Alison Bliss
Series: A Perfect Fit, #3

This laugh-out-loud romantic comedy proves that, when enemies become lovers, all bets are off!

Jessa Gibson may be new in the little town of Granite, Texas, but in no time at all her gourmet food truck business is booming. Soon she'll have enough money to open the restaurant of her dreams. But first, she'll have to appease the hot local health inspector, no matter how strange his "violations" sound to her. No pink plastic gloves? Really?

Max Hager isn't exactly who he says he is. Pretending to be a health inspector is a (mostly) innocent mistake. A mistake made way worse by Max's immediate, electrifying attraction to the curvy, sexy, redheaded chef. Throw in a whole lot of lust, and things in Jessa's little kitchen are about to really start heating up. But can Max find a way to come clean with Jessa before his little deception turns into a recipe for disaster?

More to Love (the 3rd installment of the Perfect Fit series) was absolutely fantastic and I loved everything about it!  It was a fun and sexy read that was highly entertaining and the perfect escape from the real world.

I loved Jessa’s independence and sassy attitude and Max showed a different and lovable side that the reader didn’t get to see in the previous novels.  Jessa and Max are adorable together and their chemistry is one for the record books! Not only did we have the most cutest romance ever, there was even a twist that was totally unexpected!

Easy to read, interesting characters and a story that was impossible to step away from, More to Love proved once again what an amazing writer Alison Bliss is, and I can’t wait to see what she gives us next.  Whatever it is, I know without a doubt it’s going to be outstanding!

More to Love is well deserving of a 5-star rating and I highly recommend it to any fan of romantic comedies with characters that anyone can relate too.

Book Review & Release Day Blitz ~ ON THE PLUS SIDE (A Perfect Fit #2) by Alison Bliss {Giveaway}

ON THE PLUS SIDE
Author: Alison Bliss
Series: A Perfect Fit, #2
On Sale: June 27, 2017
Publisher: Forever
Mass Market: $7.99 USD

Big girls don't cry. They go after what they want.

Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads-with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.

Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book-by making each red-hot deed a reality.

No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.

Valerie and Logan have been attracted to each other for years, but nothing ever came of it because of an age difference between the two and Valerie’s over-protected brother, who just happened to be Logan’s best friend.  Eight years later, Logan is back in town and that attraction from so long ago cannot be contained and the sparks that had started years before finally explode into a raging inferno that can not be denied.

Oh, my gosh!  On the Plus Side was absolutely amazing y’all!  I knew I was going to like this series after reading Size Matters, but now, I am hooked and totally in love.   I liked Valerie when she was introduced in the last book, but her character totally shined in this installment and I believe that is what made this story so amazing.  Valerie has so much confidence in herself and doesn’t back down from anything….well, maybe her brother Brent.  And Logan?  I totally fell in love with him.  Although he had a tendency to turn all cave-man-like (which was totally hot by the way!), he had a heart of gold that was just too sweet.

There is so much to like in this story.  Alison Bliss has created characters that many of us can relate too and doesn’t sugar coat anything.  Her characters and their situations are real which makes this story flow so effortlessly.  With humor, drama and steamy sex scenes, this book has it all and was truly a delight to read.

Right from the start, I knew that this was going to be a fun story, and I was not disappointed.  I simply adored this book!  It was such a cute story that had me laughing out loud throughout.  On the Plus Side had just the right amount of humor and passion which made this a highly enjoyable read.  Alison Bliss has a true talent for creating amazing stories that readers will instantly connect too.  On the Plus Side could be read as a stand-alone, but if you haven't already, I urge you to pick up Size Matters.  This is such a fun series that I know fans of contemporary romance will fall in love with it.

Overall, this was an amazing story that I couldn’t put down – wonderful from start to finish.  I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Valerie Carmichael needed a drink. A strong one. Because it was the only way she envisioned herself getting through the night.
An elbow nudged into her side, bringing her thoughts back to the crowded bar. “I can’t see anything through all of these people,” Brett said, scanning the room with his eyes. “Come on, let’s go to the other side so I can get a better view.”
Sighing, Valerie trudged behind him without a word.
When Brett had asked her to attend the grand opening of Bottoms Up, a new bar in their hometown of Granite, Texas, she’d hesitated to say yes. Sure, she was curious what the inside of the recently remodeled bar looked like and had no doubt the place would be jam-packed with handsome, available men. But it was still the last place on earth she wanted to be.
She knew better than to hang out in bars with her older and only—thank God—brother. Every time she’d done so in the past, the nights had always ended the same way. Brett would spend the entire evening hovering over her like a rabid pit bull, daring any single guy with a glint in his eye to look her way. Because Valerie turned heads. She always had.
Oh, she wasn’t silly enough to believe she looked like some gorgeous supermodel with a lean, trim figure or anything. She definitely didn’t. But she had a pretty face, banging plus-size curves, and a lively personality. And that was good enough for her. Valerie was just…Valerie. And damn proud of it.
Across the room, Sam and Leah emerged from the dense crowd, with a beer bottle for him and a glass of water for her. Apparently, Leah was still on that damn diet and counting calories so she would fit into her wedding dress. Though why she didn’t just buy the dress in a larger size was beyond Valerie.
Leah blinked at the sight of her. “Val? What are you doing here? You said you weren’t coming.”
Valerie shrugged. “I changed my mind.”
“Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah, sure. Why?”
“When you said you didn’t want to go out, I assumed you were sick. You never turn down a night out.” Leah placed her palm lightly against Valerie’s forehead. “You sure you don’t have the flu or something?”
Valerie laughed and pushed her friend’s hand away. “Oh, stop it. I just didn’t feel like getting dressed up. I’m getting tired of the whole bar scene.”
Then Valerie’s heart stopped, along with her lips. Oh God.

Brett stood there talking to a tall, dark-haired man who had one thumb hooked in the front pocket of his jeans while he leaned comfortably against the wall with his right shoulder. She couldn’t see the other guy’s face, but she didn’t need to. Valerie recognized all six feet, two inches of him. Logan Mathis.

The rules of (fake) engagement . . .

Leah Martin has spent her life trying to avoid temptation. But she's sick of low-fat snacks, counting calories, and her hyper-critical mom. Fortunately, her popular new bakery keeps her good and distracted. But there aren't enough éclairs in the world to distract Leah from the hotness that is Sam Cooper - or the fact that he just told her mother that they're engaged . . . which is a big, fat lie.

Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancee! Now the plan is to keep up the fake engagement, stay "just friends," and make Leah's family loathe him enough to just call the whole thing off . But Sam has an insatiable sweet tooth, not only for Leah's decadent desserts but her decadent curves. Her full lips. Her bright green eyes. Yep, things aren't going quite according to plan. Now Sam has to convince Leah that he's for real . . . before their little lie turns into one big, sweet disaster.

Right from the start, I knew that this was going to be a fun story, and I was not disappointed.  I simply adored this book!  It was such a cute story that had me laughing out loud throughout.  Leah and Sam were great characters but my favorite was Sam.  Gosh, how I loved his character!  Bless his heart, he just didn’t know the correct way to convey his thoughts  and at times caused some pretty hilarious moments.   Sam and Leah seem like real people with real problems that most of us can relate too which made this hilarious adventure even more enjoyable.

Although somewhat predictable, Size Matters had just the right amount of humor and passion which made this an enjoyable read.  Alison Bliss is a new author for me, but I am now a fan!  Her writing is spot on and there was never a dull moment.  Matter a fact, there were several scenes that were so hot and steamy, I felt myself blush as I was reading – Ms. Bliss can rock the sex scenes for sure!

Overall, this was an amazing story that I couldn’t put down – wonderful from start to finish.  I thought that this was a great start to the A Perfect Fit Series and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Leah Martin nearly choked on her beer.
“What do you mean just pick one?” Her eyes scanned the entire bar before settling back on her friend. “Pick one what?”
“A guy, of course.”
Yeah, because it was just that simple. For Valerie, maybe. Even though they were close in size, Valerie always wore her weight better and turned heads everywhere she went. It probably helped that she had expressive doe eyes, wavy platinum-blond hair, and looked more like a cutesy toy poodle any guy would give their right testicle to take for a walk.
“I hate to tell you this, Val, but that only applies to women who look like you.” If Leah had to classify herself in that same frame of reference, she’d accurately describe herself as a Bulldog. Not only did she have the breed’s innate stubborn streak, but she also had the matching broad shoulders, wide hips, large chest, and—if she didn’t lose a few pounds—probably the same short life span. “Hippy brunettes with body image issues and smudged eyeliner don’t get the luxury of just pick one.”
“Oh, shut up,” Valerie said, rolling her eyes. “Your eyeliner looks fine.”
Yep, that about sums it up. My eyeliner is the only thing that looks decent on me tonight.
The little black dress she wore was just that—too little—and was slowly squeezing the life out of her. Especially after packing on ten extra pounds in the last few months. The sheath of fabric clung to every curve, as well as every bulge. Thank God they lived in Texas instead of Alaska or an Eskimo might’ve mistaken her for a seal and tried to skin her.
“So what’s your pleasure?” Valerie asked, not giving up. “Plenty of gorgeous men in here tonight.”
“Sure, if I squint.”
“Okay, stop being negative. You’re gorgeous, and lots of men love curvy women. I should know. Now pick one.”
No point in arguing with her. Once Valerie set her mind to something, she didn’t stop until the mission was accomplished. But the only time Leah had ever had her pick of anything was when she stood in front of the doughnut case at work, deciding between a chocolate éclair or a cream cheese danish.
“How am I supposed to know who to pick? It’s not like they wear signs on their foreheads saying, ‘I dig fat chicks.’”
Valerie shot her an exasperated look. “We’ll just establish a baseline for the kind of guy you want.”
“The kind of guy I’d want wouldn’t be hanging out in a bar called Rusty’s Bucket. In fact, I wouldn’t be here either if you hadn’t forced me to come.”
“Leah, you got dumped. Happens to all of us sooner or later.” Valerie’s voice softened as she reached for Leah’s hand. “It sucks, I know. But you’re always at work or upstairs in your apartment, which means you never leave that damn building. It’s not healthy. You can’t hide out forever.”
“I’m not hiding. I’ve just…been busy. I never imagined I’d be this swamped only a month after grand opening, and I’ve had to put in a lot of extra hours.” Leah caught Valerie’s I’m-not-buying-it expression. “Come on, Val. The wedding is tomorrow night. Everything has to be perfect because...well, you know.”
Valerie rolled her eyes. “Why does it even matter?”
“Because my reputation is at stake. It’s my cake the happy couple will be stuffing into each other’s mouths. They can choke on it for all I care, but it’s going to be the tastiest damn wedding cake they’ve ever eaten while keeling over. Everything has to go as smoothly as possible, and I have a million things to do before tomorrow night. I still need to—”
Valerie raised her hand to stop her from continuing. “What you need is a break. Let’s find some guys to dance with and have a few hours of fun before you lock yourself up in the cave again. Just humor me, okay? Now, what would say your dream guy’s most attractive quality would be?”
Leah sighed. “A pulse.”
“No vampires. Check. What else?”
“I don’t know. This is stupid.” Leah caught the disappointment in Valerie’s eyes and groaned. “Okay, fine. I guess I’d want…”
Her gaze sifted through the crowd, landing on two men at the bar. While the one standing motioned to the bartender, the other rolled up the sleeves of his blue button-down shirt, drawing Leah’s attention to his tanned, muscular forearms. When he finished, he bumped his elbow against the other man’s ribs and said something that made them both laugh. The warm, amused smile he wore sent a zing of pleasure through Leah, like she’d been given a intravenous shot of serotonin. Him. I’d want him.
