Release Date: November 13, 2015

Some places are too evil. Some places should be left alone.

Austin Cole has it made. Star of the hit television show Spirit Chaser Investigations, he has become the world's most famous paranormal investigator. Although hard work, a talented investigation team, and favorable genetics have something to do with it, it's his lack of fear and willingness to take risks no one else will that make Spirit Chaser Investigations cable's number-one show. When a ghost-hunt-gone-wrong seriously injures his best friend and lead psychic, Austin is forced to find a replacement for a team member he considers irreplaceable.

Casey Lawson can't catch a break. She's been on her own since she turned eighteen and is scraping by as a part-time psychic and cashier at a New Age store. When a desperate Austin Cole calls her up and offers her a position on his team, has her fortune finally changed?

He's a control freak; she's stubborn and opinionated. It takes time, but when they finally realize they're working on the same side, everything clicks, both on and off screen.

Just when things are looking up, a new threat emerges. Over the years, Austin has angered plenty of demons, and one of them has set her sights on him. Now he's the one in danger, and it's up to the team to rescue him from the riskiest investigation of their lives.

3.5 out of 5 stars
Although this is the second installment of the My Demonic Ghost series, The Reapers can be read as a stand-alone novel without any problem.

This story is told from the point of view of newbie Reaper Jordan, Evan’s step-brother, who went missing in the previous book.  This book was sort of like a behind the scenes telling of what was going on when we were reading about Evan in the first book.  It was very insightful and I had a better understanding of what was going on during My Demonic Ghost.  I really liked Jordan and his need to protect and look after his little brother even after death.  I must say that I enjoyed The Reapers more just from the stand point that it had more action and definitely had some new characters that I fell in love with…especially Jordon’s Goon, Raix.  There was a scene that had me bawling at one point, but the outcome had me smiling again.   And it must be said that with the final chapter, you are left with an ‘Oh Crap’ feeling as it leaves the reader with a hint of what the next installment will be about.  Things are about to get a little messy I believe!

With horrifying vivid descriptions of pure evil, you can’t help but shiver with fright as you read this terrifying novel.  There were a ton of twists and turns with this one that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. This suspenseful story was well-written and the plot flowed effortlessly.  Ms. Maree has outdone herself with The Reapers, and I can’t wait for the next installment of this engrossing and entertaining series.

Self confessed chocaholic, Jacinta was born and raised in Melbourne Australia with her loving family of five. Even as a child Jacinta had an itch to write. Writing was the one constant hobby she clung to, also trying her hand at piano, flute, tennis, horseback riding and drama.

Jacinta works full time in the family business and spends her afternoons either playing basketball, reading, writing or hanging out with friends. She is always happy to try something new; getting her real estate license, practicing ninjitshu, Zumba and parkour to name a few.

For her future, Jacinta sees herself writing. It is a large part of her identity and something she hopes to continue. Aside from her love of stories she loves Japan and its unique and beautiful culture and history. From their delicious sushi dishes right down to their wooden sandals and kimonos. She is also a huge cat person and loves to snuggle up in front of the fire for a good movie or book. Her favorite genres are paranormal and fantasy but she also loves anything written by thriller writer, Stephen King.

Review ~ Don't Fear the Reaper by Michelle Muto

Don't Fear the Reaper
by Michelle Muto

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Haunted by memories of her murdered twin, Keely Morrison is convinced suicide is her only ticket to eternal peace.
But in death, she discovers the afterlife is nothing like she expected. Instead of peaceful oblivion or a joyful reunion with her sister, Keely is trapped in a netherworld on Earth with only a bounty-hunting reaper and a sarcastic demon to show her the ropes.
When the demon offers Keely her ultimate temptation--revenge on her sister's killer--she must determine who she can trust. Because, as Keely soon learns, the reaper and demon have been keeping secrets and she fears the worst is true--that her every decision changes how, and with whom, she spends eternity.

My Review:
4 out of 5 stars

Although this is a work of fiction, it touches on a very real life issue......suicide. After losing her twin sister to a brutal murder and missing her terribly, Keely does the unthinkable...she take her own life so she can find her sister.  After her passing, Keely meets up with a reaper named Banning and a demon named Daniel. Because she committed suicide, she is not able to go immediately to Heaven. She must stay in Purgatory and must pass a test in order to go through the Pearly Gates. If she fails, she gets a one-way ticket to Hell. While she waits for her funeral and her test, she finds that taking her own life really affects her loved ones and friends more than she could have ever know.

The characters are so awesome. I fell in love with Banning. You can really tell that he really cared for Keely and would have done anything to make her transition better.  And when I found out when and why he decided to become a reaper, I loved him even more.  Daniel. Oh,Daniel. So much to like about this demon. He is funny, witty and sarcastic.  He really is the comedian in this story. I really wished I could have learned more of Daniel's past and why he became a demon, because really, I don't understand how he landed such a crappy job. Maybe we find out in a sequel?  I really hope so!

This is one of those books that made me laugh and it made me cry. This was such a beautiful well-written story that is very powerful and thought provoking. Ms. Muto really has outdone herself with this novel.  She has really captured the heartbreaking toll that suicide has on the family and friends that are left behind.

This one is suitable for all age groups.  No sex, no romance, just a really good down-to-earth story that everyone should read!
